Who we are

TaxMama (டாக்ஸ் மாமா / வரி எளிது) explains Sri Lankan tax news in simple Tamil and English.

We read each notice from the Inland Revenue Department (IRD). Then we explain it in short sentences, with a picture and an example.

What we are not

• We are not a government website.
• We do not give tax advice for your own situation.

Every post links to its source, so you can check it yourself.

How we check facts

• Every post shows the date of the IRD notice or news it is based on.
• Every post shows the date we last checked it.
• If we are still checking a detail, the post says so at the top.
• All tax rates in our calculators live in one place and show a "last checked" date.
